What Divers Are Saying
Recently stayed at the Hilton Barbados which made Blue Water Sports the obvious choice for a 2 tank dive. A 2 minute walk to the shop and we met Ochel who handled our booking smoothly and efficiently. We went for a morning dive so got to the store for 9am and were met by Richard who was to be our divemaster. Briefings were clear and safety was top of mind. Excellent way to start. We visited two reefs diving at about 60 to 70ft for approx 40 to 45 minutes. Marine life was plentiful and colorful. On the second dive we visited a real wreck (not a purposely sunk hull). Terrific site to spend a few minutes. This team put on a good dive session for us. It was safe and fun

Loved my experience here. No better place to have your first dive than Barbados. All of the staff, especially Nicole and Quincy were such good vibes and great trainers. If you’re debating doing it, I’m terrified of everything ocean and didn’t know a SINGLE thing about diving but as soon as I got to the bottom I never wanted to leave. You see amazing sea life and you are so safe. People in my group were struggling and they were supported the entire time. The only thing was that for my group because of the number of beginners they didn’t record it but once I saw the people in my group needing help it was clear that it would’ve been impossible for the staff to record and properly support them. Be realistic! You can always bring your own cameras etc this was too spontaneous for me to prepare. And it’s worth every penny, other places on the island might be cheaper but you will pay for it with time at the bottom through feeling less confident and needing to be supported more. From when I jumped off the boat I could do my own thing and explore independently (following the guides instructions of course) and make the most of the time. Leaving a bad review because of too much safety is crazy in my opinion.

Had the most amazing time scuba diving with Amy, Shadane, Ajhanii, and Richard, and had a lovely experience at the front desk with Oschell. My complaint is with Dr. Brownes who told me over the phone I needed to lose 20 pounds. I am a perfectly healthy height and weight, but regardless that is not something that was relevant for my dive OR should be "diagnosed" over the phone. A special touch was him mentioning that I had a hand to mouth issue (putting food in my mouth with my hand, though it did make for a great joke the rest of the trip). Turns out he said it to the woman before me as well who was also a very small person. I think he do some research on what it means to provide quality, well informed care for people at any size (HAES) and should refrain from commenting OVER THE PHONE about people's health unless it directly relates to the scuba experience. Luckily I'm a very confident person and still had the most amazing time with the whole team on the boat swimming with the fishies. <3 AND enjoyed a fat pina coolada with a side of fries at the end as a reward (with extra mayo XO). Call me a sensitive American, I'm fine with that!

I was on a Virgin Voyages Cruise and although a great cruise line, they do not offer scuba diving excursions. I was so ecstatic that when I called Barbados Blue, Oschell received me w/such kindness & made the booking so easy even though it was last minute. She asked all the fact-finding questions (e.g., certified, last dive, comfortability, etc.) that it made getting processed & signed-in a smooth transition. I cannot forget to mention Nicole!!! She is such a patient and compassionate person that did my refresher course on arrival. God bless this woman because she has a different type of patience that just oozes understanding and grace. At no time did I feel rushed or slow. Her calm nature actually was able to make me be at ease so that I was able to go through the skills test w/ease. THANK YOU NICOLE!!! Last but not least, I went on the dive w/Roger and I must say that some of the aquatic life that I would have possibly missed, he made sure that I did not miss out. Overall, if you are an avid diver or someone who wants to learn something new... You cannot go wrong with this crew! I will see you guys soon!

For a vacation resort experience, it’s very unusual that scuba divers have to set up their entire rig.
Book with caution. We only recommend this dive for very experienced divers. The reef itself was pretty coral, but very few fish and very small fish. Boat was nice - one year old but the head on the boat was broken Staff was adequate.

Barbados Blue is very well run, professional shop in a great location (on Carlisle Bay) with very well maintained equipment and extremely knowledgeable and personable instructors. I just finished my 2-day, 4-dive initial PADI open water training after completing the PADI e-learning before arriving. The instruction for my group of 5 was just the right blend of casual but thorough. I had a great experience and recommend them highly. A 10/10!!

The dive centre is well laid out and has everything you would expect. The boat was a stable catamaran with a spacious dive deck and easy stride entry off both sides and ladder to get back aboard.
The dive sites were full of life and the signature wreck SS Stavronikita (25m to the deck) was excellent. There are lots of smaller shallower wrecks and loads of coral reefs. Visibility was only 15-20m but I believe them when they say it’s usually better.
But the standout thing for me is how friendly, helpful, professional and thorough the dive crew, skipper and staff are. I was diving twin cylinders and they were happy for me to come aboard early and set up my gear before everyone else on singles arrived. They buddied me with another experienced diver and were happy for us to do our dive as we wanted while keeping a watchful eye on us.
Site and safety briefings were thorough and they helped sorting out weights and gear so we all got in the water with a minimum of fuss.
Having seen how they looked after novice and experienced divers alike I would have no hesitation in recommending them for a memorable dive trip.

One day Padi Discover Experience. Learned the basics in the swimming pool (small group) in the morning and went on a 40 minutes dive in the afternoon. Great instructor Shiv. Calm, professional, enthusiastic and friendly. Amazing first time experience. Highly recommended.
